Constipation is infrequent bowel movements or difficult passage of stools. Constipation is a common gastrointestinal problem.

Symptoms of constipation include:

  • Hard stools
  • Straining
  • A sense of incomplete emptying after bowel movements

Not having a bowel movement for a day or longer is not only unhealthy but also uncomfortable and often painful. Prescription medications, lack of fiber or fluids and even dehydration can all contribute to constipation. Relief from constipation can be found by:
