Anxiety is a normal reaction to stress and helps you deal with tense situations, study harder for an exam, or keep focused on the task at hand. In such situations, it helps you cope. It becomes a debilitating disorder when we worry about everyday life events for no apparent reason or become overwhelmed with fear and uncertainty day after day. In today’s society, stress and anxiety are a part of daily life. But what can happen when anxiety becomes excessive? Signs of excessive anxiety are:
  • Constant worry
  • Restless sleep
  • Irritability
  • Muscle tension
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Feeling exhausted
  • Frequent bathroom visits
  • Nausea
  • Reduction of vitamin B levels in the body
There are many natural ways to avoid excessive anxiety:
  • Practice regular meditation, yoga or exercise
  • Get outdoors; take a walk
  • Take time during the day to do something for you enjoy; read, drink green tea, listen to music
  • A natural B vitamin supplement such as Advanced Active B can help support the body’s nervous, hormonal and immune system. It can also help to improve energy, stress and fatigue, thus reducing symptoms of anxiety
  • Optimum levels of healthy flora such as found in Advanced ProBiotic Formula can also help to naturally produce B vitamins as well as support digestion
Healthy fact: Diaphragmatic or deep breathing will help reduce anxiety and can be done anywhere. Begin by lying down and placing your hands on your belly button. As you take a deep breath in you will feel your hands rising gently. Exhale slowly so your hands fall down. Continue to breathe out as you pull your belly button towards your spine; then hold for two seconds. If your hands do not move up and down, you are not getting the benefits of the deep breathing. Practice this until you can do this while sitting, standing or walking.
