Time4Health

Have you ever heard the saying, “Many people spend their health gaining wealth, and then spend their wealth gaining health?” It rings true and I’ve seen it time and again in my practice.

It is entirely possible to save your wealth and take care of your health. You can start today. Everyone wants a quick solution, something easy that will produce fast results. The solution is simple; start small, one step at a time. The Time 4 Health is now!

Here are a few easy tips to get you started:

Sit on a ball – sit on an exercise ball while watching television, or even working. This is a simple but effective workout that benefits core muscles, posture, improves circulation and balance, increases energy, and causes you to change positions often.

Drink water – drink one extra 8-oz. glass of water each day. Increase your water intake until you are drinking two thirds of your body weight in fluid ounces daily. Water helps to flush out toxins in the body and helps to break down fat.

Eat breakfast– don’t skip the first meal of the day! Energize your body! Eat a healthy portion of protein for breakfast such as organic and chemical free sausage, eggs, Greek yogurt, bacon ham, last night’s dinner, or simply make a delicious protein smoothie with fiber and berries.  Use protein shake in place of cream and sugar in your coffee for a taste that is sure to please your palate.

Snack well – instead of reaching for a candy bar or cookies, try eating healthy snacks mid morning and mid afternoon such as nuts and seeds, hummus and vegetables, a handful of olives or half an avocado. Not only will healthy snacking help to curb the appetite; it will help to reduce cravings.

Have some fun! – Take time to enjoy life! Each day, for 20 or 30 minutes, take a brisk walk (your dog will thank you!), take a swim, jog, play tennis or any favorite sport that will help to keep your cardiovascular system in optimal performance. Not only will you feel better, your stress levels will be reduced and you’ll sleep better, too.

Small steps –Substitute one of these simple tasks daily for one week. Once you’ve switched one task into your schedule, take on another task and another until you have a daily healthy regimen. In very little time you will be on your way to a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
